Nigeria has been hobbling along under the weight of desperately bad leadership, corruption and political instability arising from rabid military dictatorship.
Since 1999, we have had a type of democracy on our political landscape. this type of democracy which has been imposed on the majority by a few negates the very meaning of the term "democracy" which portends a government of the people by the people for the people.
Our political class are RULERS over us not LEADERS, they do not think we / all Nigerians matter, consequently, they manipulate elections and electoral processes to stay on as our RULERS.
It is time to start to conciously determine what happens in OUR Nigeria. we can start today to make our Votes Count. We need to make the political class know that we matter and indeed that we call the shots. we need to get involved in the political processes and vie for elective positions to make a difference. we need to rise up and get registered, get ready to vote on election day and ensure that our INEC properly records our votes. We need to exercise our right to vote and guard our votes with utmost diligence.
Our children and generations yet to come deserve the benefit of a functional nation, good governance, a country free of corruption and an economicaly viable state.
We owe it to ourselves to go beyond seeing the problems to fixing the problems.
Let us make our votes count in the 2011 elections because Naijas' votes count!!!!
